In 2025 the village of Bolivar, Ohio celebrated its 200th birthday!
Various events and activities were held throughout the year for the bicentennial.
A total of only TEN Bicentennial Crocks were auctioned off Friday night at 7:00pm in the Brew Tent during Strawberry Festival 2025! Each crock was sponsored by a local business, courtesy of Bolivar Main Street Association.
BOLIVAR BICENTENNIAL HOMECOMING!
SUNDAY, JUNE 8, 2025 from 11am – 4pm
A gloomy day followed the sunshine of Strawberry Festival for Bolivar’s Bicentennial Homecoming. Most food and business vendors stayed and some unique activities were held, but the weather held back the crowds.
Many thanks to Dale Duerr and his family for an outstanding display of antique carriages and ancient tools that were once used by local families and on family farms.
Decorating Contest Winners were announced by former mayor, Rebecca Hubble at the Homecoming. Current 2025 mayor, Robert Lloyd delivered prizes to the winners in person!

- Seth Angel engaged with the community with a visually captivating presentation that explored the rich history of Bolivar. Attendees were transported back in time as Seth presented in period attire, bringing events to life.

- Dale Duerr brought an informative PowerPoint presentation that delved even deeper into the captivating history of Bolivar. This engaging session highlighted key events and figures that have shaped the community.
MAY 2025 – Front Door/Porch/Store Front Decorating Contest
- Bicentennial Theme – Judging May 31 – June 3.
JUNE 2025 – Bolivar Main Street’s Bicentennial Crock Auction
- Friday June 6th at 7:00 in the Main Tent at Strawberry Festival, Wallick Auctions auctioned off ten Bicentennial crocks.
